GRADUATION PROJECT IN BERLIN, GERMANY
In my graduation project, I investigated how to meaningfully integrate local water treatment and local farming into a building cluster. I developed a sustainable library building, that co-operates with surrounding residential blocks in creating a semi-independent metabolic system. This scheme represents a sustainable solution that could be widely adopted throughout new urban developments.
The interior of the library building is characterized by the symbiosis between traditional functions and integrated metabolic functions. Treatment of water by means of wetland plant cells, and the storage of clean water constitute elements that support a calm and relaxed atmosphere in the library.
